Where?
|
The first step is to determine where your particular place is and to find the corresponding topographic map. It can be a full map sheet from the USGS or any area from within that sheet. Any map can be increased or decreased in sized to meet your specific needs. John will work directly with you to determine the perfect size and orientation for your painting.

What? |
Working from photos that you provide or reference materials acquired by the artist, a layout will be designed in Photoshop so that you have a rough idea of what the final painting will look like. John will work directly with you to determine what areas of the map need to remain visible and what areas can be painted over. Then, working with the images and with the contours and shapes within the map itself, a composition is created. These layouts are sent to you for approval before any painting begins.
